I've been a filmmaker for most my of my creative life and my still photography is completely influenced by my filmmaking. I use a traditional photographic technique of a longer exposure to capture motion within the "still" or motivated camera movement during exposure. In this way, I push the still towards a more filmic and temporal rendition. In the second of exposure I hope to capture what I see as natures breath along with my response to what I see. My gesture, my response, becomes part of the image.
Trained both as a filmmaker and a still photographer, my passion in life has become imagery. In large part, it is about imagery in nature. It is my hope that these images will wash over us and remind us to walk gently on the earth, mindful that it is our provider and we need to safeguard it for the generations to come.
Inspired by the colours the earth offers us, I see that nature is the true artist, enveloping us with bold and gentle combinations of colour that spark emotions and trigger the imagination.

I find inspiration in nature, from its colour to its breath, how it moves from one moment to the next and how it shows us spirit in existence. Artists have long been fascinated by nature and its movements, its colour, its breath.
I use traditional techniques, also inspired by the great photographers like Ansel Adams, who used longer exposures to capture movement in nature. To this I add my own movement, like a gesture that traces my response into the work, showing how I see what I see.
My still photography has been awarded an honourable mention for a set of five images in the International Photography Awards, Fine Arts Abstract, and another honourable mention for a second set of five images in the same category in Paris. My films have been featured both in the Toronto Film Festival here in Canada and in several countries internationally.
